new years resolution

When making your New Year's resolution be gentle and kind to yourself. Think of your resolution as a dedication to yourself. A dedication that calls upon your inner strength, empowers you and causes you to rise to the occasion. We are drawn to dedication by our own desires.

Our desires are requesting dedication, and dedication is requesting a change. When change is present we may feel excited, and curious. We may also feel uncertainty and doubt. Use these emotions as an incentive to move you closer to your dedication. Be optimistic about your outcome, even through the difficult moments. We need those difficult times to triumph over and revel in victory and achievement!

How to Manifest Your Resolution According to Western Research

According to Western research, each desire for change is a request for your cells to wire together in a new way. The more attention you give your desire, the stronger your wire becomes. We give attention to our desire through thought, spoken word, physical action, and visualization.

Here is an example, let's say I want to quit eating refined sugar. Rather than focusing on the choice that I can no longer have sugar, I am going to focus on what I can have, like sweet apples, dates, and honey. When I eat those foods I'm going to enjoy them and really taste their sweetness. As opposed to getting mad or frustrated that I can't have the refined sugary foods. In this instance, I am training myself with taste and thought alone that those foods are more satisfying than the other.

Imagery and Symbolism for Your Resolution through the Five Elements

Below is a bit of imagery and symbolism to take with you as you travel with your dedication into the New Year.

When we spark the match to light the fire, we must add wood to help it burn, and then use metal to direct the wood. It is the earth that provides boundaries for the fire, and water that gives fire its flexibility.
